Random Ramblings Of A City Girl

{Life Lately} Seasons Changing…

Hello! Welcome! Or am I screaming into the silence? I hope not. Darlings, where do I even begin? I have not abandoned my little corner on the interwebs and I know life tends to get a little busy from time to time but my absence on the blog saw me not posting for 6+ months and truth be told – I have absolutely enjoyed my time away from the internet as a whole. Away from the screen, away from social media (for the most part) and just settling into my new role at my job. I enjoyed not having the pressure of posting or shooting content.

Recently I enjoyed a few days away from the added pressure of working and studying and also really just enjoying the last few days of winter before summer kicks in. The “getaway” felt short lived but definitely worth it.  Where exactly did I go, you ask? maybe not… but I do feel like I owe my readers an explanation because I have been sharing my trivial ramblings on here for almost 10 years! Yes, can you believe it, 10 years!  I didn’t disappear because I was “too busy”, “demotivated” or “didn’t have any content to post about”,  but rather the fact that social media started to and still do feel “the same”. Everyone either trying to sell the same product, everyone wearing the same trends, Tik Tok vids galore… you catch my drift… same same but different. Aah! How I live for these ramblings that I am currently spewing in this post. To be honest, I have no idea how frequently I will be blogging but what I do know is that I want to get back into blogging. The blogging that I “fell in love” with. The blogging that doesn’t involve numbers and followers and begging for free stuff. I have deactivated my Instagram and muted 90% on my Facebook and Twitter TL. If this means losing brand partnerships and money, so be it. I didn’t get into blogging for the money anyway. What I enjoyed about blogging back then is how much fun it was just putting pen to paper (or in this case, fingers to keyboard), writing about things like chasing the sunset in Cape Town. I want people to stumble across my blog like they’re used to… pre-influencer craze. I still want my place on the internet where I share things that I love and am passionate about. I know my little spot on the internet is not going to be for everyone but for those that have been enjoying my content for the past few years, I say Thank You. I might have been quiet on social media and posting on the blog but personally I have been doing alot in building and rebuilding relationships and also easing into the warmer weather. Long strolls on Seapoint Promenade and outings with my fave people have been my saving grace in simmering down my mind and body where the end of year rush kicks in, in the clothing production field. So while the seasons are changing and we’re celebrating Spring and the rebirth of everything that is life, let me ease into the beauty that is blogging and keeping you up to date with usual blog banter.

With that being said… What type of content would you like to read about on the blog?

  1. Goodness I’m glad to see you posting again. I have definitely been wondering. I recently started enjoying blogging again because I’m blogging for myself. I can really relate to this post. Anyway, I’m glad to see you are doing good 🙂
