So this is what 29 feels like? Yes darlings, I am in my final season of my 20’s and if I am being completely transparent, I am having NO feelings of doubt, anxiety or pressure. I am a childless, relationshipless (I am pretty sure I made that word up), unbothered and most importantly HAPPY AND CONTENT 29 year old. I get these snide comments saying “When are you getting married?”, “You’re getting older, you must have kids now”, type of comments all the time and when I hand them “several seats” with my response, I seam to ruffle some feathers. 😏 Okay, so maybe I didn’t intend for my blog post to start off so passive-aggressive but I really just wanted to chat a little bit about my birthday shenanigans. In general, I am a very private person and I don’t really share much of my life online even though I am a blogger. With that being said, the birthday celebrations ended after 3-4 days with gifts and calls and texts still rolling in. Obviously with covid and all, I didn’t have any party but my immediate family went all out with the spoils and my kidcats wouldn’t leave me alone for a second! 😂My birthday morning was spent on a drive through the Cape Winelands where we settled for lunch and a swim in the picturesque Paarl area. The sun was out and the most glorious breeze swept over my skin every now and again, making the heat alot more bearable. It was definitely the most “chilled” birthday that I have had in a while and I am extremely blessed to have spent it with some of the people that I love.
I am not going to set any goals for the year 2021 but I am going to choose a word and take that into consideration everytime I make any decision – big or small. My word is Manifestation. For my last year in my 20’s, I want to manifest:
- Good health
- Being mindful
- Self aware
- More appreciativeIf my birthday is anything to go by on setting the tone for the rest of the year and then I accept all of the blessings that 2021 has to offer. I don’t want to be one those people that condemns 2020 completely because there were some good things that came from 2020 for me personally. I pray that we (yes, you too!) come out of this pandemic and 2021 with endless blessings and an abundance success in all avenues of your life. Now to officially start my blogging year with you, Thank you all for the continuous support in 2020. Thank you for reading and engaging with my content. I appreciate it all and I hope 2021 is the year that I am way more consistent in my postings.
