Things I Love ♥

My current season changing faves.

Summer days are coming and I am excited! The weather in Cape Town today may not suggest it but I am still waiting with bated breath because we have had some amazing summer teaser days this past week. While I am still going strong with my newly adopted minimalistic lifestyle, I haven’t been shopping much but have been taking a serious look at my wardrobe and beauty cabinet to see what it is that I really enjoy in terms of clothes and beauty products. Today I thought that I would share some of my new fave purchases, gifted items and rediscovered beauties. Not much, but like I said… “Minimalist Millennium”. 😅 City Girl Vibe x Current FavesGiven this current monochrome vibe that I am into, I am mainly focused on staple pieces and essentials that I have been using alot lately. All of the items that I am featuring today I am definitely going to be using in Spring as well. Can you tell that I am excited for the season change?! Yessss! Spring is three days away! I love winter fashion but I live for those summer nights and city lights vibe. Nonetheless – here are my faves:

White pleated skirt from WoolworthsCity Girl Vibe x Woolworths Pleated Midi SkirtI got this skirt online on the Woolworths Quality Sale. You guys! I am in love. I have a tad shorter navy-blue one and I decided to add this midi length one to my collection. I don’t own any white skirts and when I saw this one on the sale, I knew I just had to have it. It is so versatile as it looks super chic with an ankle boot and stockings in the colder weather and in summer with a pair of flats or even sneakers. The quality of the skirt is amazing and it even has a “built in” petticoat. I cannot wait to get more wear out of this skirt. Pro tip: in order to keep the pleats in your skirt in the washing process, put your skirt in a pair of stockings and then toss it in the wash. The pleats will stay in and your garment will be smelling fresh again. You’ll thank me later. 😉

SVR Microgommage Lift ScrubCity Girl Vibe x SVR Microgommage Lift Exfoliating MaskI will have a full review of this product on the blog soon but I have really been enjoying this scrub from SVR. I got this sent to me in a PR package the other day and I started using it imminently because my skin is currently in a flaking phase so this scrub is great at removing the dead skin cells and flaking. This is the first time that I have used anything from the SVR brand but from what I can tell, it seems promising.

Just Be Gorgeous Hair ClipsCity Girl Vibe x JET Just Be Gorgeous Hair ClipsI have had this thing for statement hair clips for a few months now, I took my own advice (for once) in my Fashion Friday post of a few months back and added these two clips to my collection from the Just Be Gorgeous range from Jet. Seeing that my hair is  the longest its been in years, I am thinking of ways to at least make it look “nice” and keep me from wanting to cut it. I thought that I would add these to my collection for only R40. I might have to give it a sweep of clear nail lacquer to prevent the colour from coming off and getting scratches on them, how cute though?!

Design Cosmetics LipstickCity Girl Vibe x Design Cosmetics LipstickThe self dubbed lipstick queen is back! Yes, I am back to wearing lipstick again because I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms. I popped into Edgars the other day and picked this one up for R24.99. My regulars already knows my love affair with deep reds. This lipstick has a satin finish and sits really comfortably on the lips.  I have really come to love the Design Cosmetics brand so adding this lippie to my collections should come as no surprise. I wish I had added a few more shades to my basket because I really love the formula of this lipstick.

Colours Limited Plumping MascaraCity Girl Vibe x Colours Limited Plumping MascaraI already have a full review of this mascara on the blog. The last time I spoke about this mascara on the blog, I said that it requires a little bit of finessing but let me just add that I am now a pro at using it. Now that I haven’t worn a full face of makeup in months, I focus more on my eyes because that is practically the only feature that peeps out from behind the mask. This mascara brings all the drama and it makes my lashes look super long and voluminous. It is definitely worth checking out at Foschini for only R42,99.

Black leather handbagCity Girl Vibe x Current Fave HandbagI got this handbag as a gift and if I being honest, it isn’t typically the style of handbag that I would go for but I am really enjoying it. I love wearing it with an extension strap and I think what sold it for me is the chain and little pompom detail. Also, who doesn’t love a classic black tote? It is big enough to hold all of my essentials and my laptop when I need to work somewhere. I also think that it is the perfect “work” or everyday handbag.

Zam-buk Cherry Lip BalmCity Girl Vibe x Zam-Buk Cherry Lip BalmI mentioned my trusty old Cherry Zam-Buk on the blog a few weeks ago and my love for it is still going strong. When I am sitting late at night working on new content, I love lathering my lips with my cherry balm and the scent of it reminds me of the cherry Fizz-pop that I would devour as a kid. This lipbalm is about R5 (less than $1 for my US readers) and let me just say that it is such an underrated product.

That is it from me today! While I am slowly getting back into the blogging groove now that my camera is fixed, I look forward to shooting some new content for you guys. Anything in my current faves that caught your eye?
