The weather is changing and the weather is changing fast! I am not exactly a winter person as I live for the warmer weather, the only thing that I really enjoy about winter is the fashion. At this point, I have already packed away all of my summer/spring dresses and skirts and pulled out all of my knits, boots and leggings. This is the first year that I haven’t done much shopping to prep myself for winter as I realized that I have an entire suitcase of jerseys and jackets. I have pulled out my fave pieces that I have been enjoying last year autumn/winter and find myself reaching for this year. All of these pieces are super affordable and you will definitely find similar, if not the exact pieces in stores and online. I am a budget girl- so trust me to find super affordable pieces that are easy on the pocket. First up:
Free2BU Black Leather BootsIf I am being honest, I am not really a ‘short boots’ type of girl. I am not a ‘boots girl’ in general but I took a look in my collection and saw that I have quite a few pairs of great quality boots that I hardly wear. I would never go for these pointy style boots but for some reason was just drawn to these when I spotted them in Edgars last year. I pulled these boots and decided to wear it with some jeggings, a plain top and oversized knit. These booties are super comfy and gives me just the right amount of height and keeps me comfy on my feet all day. I can definitely see myself wearing these booties when the colder weather really hits us in the Cape. Alot of stores currently have this style of boot on sale, so finding a similar pair would be a breeze, this particular pair retailed for R499.
Jet: Donatella Body WarmerThis jacket is my absolute fave thing to wear. I wore this sleeveless puffer jacket religiously last year and it was such a lifesaver when I had my practical subjects at university. You’d think that because it is sleeveless that it won’t keep you warm but surprisingly it is quite the opposite. Sometimes wearing over bulky and puffy jackets make you feel restricted and that is the last thing I want and need when I am working, fortunately for me this jacket keeps me warm and allows me to move around freely. I paid just a little over R200 for it at Jet and I will definitely be adding two or more colours to my collection when I find myself in store again.
Accessories from TurkeyI love a good accessory! I feel like it can transform any outfit and also give your outfit that extra bit of oomph. These earrings I bought in Istanbul last year and wore it on my Graduation Day, fun fact; these earrings were the only thing I had up until two days before my graduation and kind of just based everything else that I wore around it. I receive so many compliments when I wear these earrings even though I have to admit that they are a bit heavy so I can’t wear it all day. Even though I bought these in Istanbul, I have seen the exact same earrings like these at Lovisa. I am usually a huge oversize bag type of girl but for some reason I really enjoy this small handbag with quite a lengthy extension strap that I wear as a crossbody bag. Having a small bag like this forces me to only carry the essentials so I only put in my pocket size sanitizer, bank card, some loose change and a lipbalm. I paid less than R50 for this bag and it is such a great quality handbag, I regret not buying another one. Lastly is this skinny belt that I love wearing with my dresses. I am a skinny belt fan and probably have one in each colour. I love using it to cinch in the waist whether I am wearing a dress or a skirt. Can you tell my colour obsession for the season?
That is it for my current faves! It will probably change over the next few weeks as I dive deeper into my winter wardrobe. What items have you been loving lately?
