Okay, so I am going to be the first to admit that I haven’t used many Dove products before, besides my TRIED, TESTED AND SWORN BY; Dove roll-on. Other than that, I haven’t been exposed to the brand much so I haven’t really been trying any of their products. Last week while doing some essential shopping at Clicks, I came across the shower and shave mousse and was quite intrigued by this product. I popped it into my basket and continued my shopping before heading home. Now before I started using this product, I hopped online to read a few reviews on it because I couldn’t understand why I haven’t see other bloggers chat about this product before and also because this is totally the type of product that is right up my alley. I love a versatile product and this one appealed to me the moment I stumbled upon it. There are three variants in this shower mousse – namely rose oil, coconut oil and argan oil. I chose to go with the argan oil one as I feel it is the most fitting for the season we’re in. These currently retails for R79.99 at Clicks and is not a new product as it launched quite a while back.
R79.99 may sound alot for a shower mousse but it is worth every cent! It is not only a super versatile product but you get every cent’s worth. 200ml goes a long way and is quite heavy. I have used it as both a shower mousse and a shaving cream and let me tell you… it is bomb! I could kick myself for not discovering it sooner. It is thick and creamy and a little goes a long way. The argan oil nourishes your skin, whether you’re using it as a shower mousse or a shaving cream, you don’t even need a body lotion after using it. I love using this mousse with my loofer to really get the maximum benefits from it and I especially love using it after exfoliating.
Before spraying the ‘cloud of foam’ onto my hand or loofer, I usually give it a good shake first in order to give it the most whipped effect or else the product is quite runny. I especially love using it as a shaving cream as it leaves my legs super soft and also prevents razor burn. One of my favourite things about this product is that the foam doesn’t dissolve into the skin, but actually gives you enough time to shave your legs.
Let’s talk scent for a second. I wish I saw the nifty little “scratch and smell” feature on the cap of the shower mousse because I wouldn’t have chosen it even though it has argan oil in it. To me the fragrance smells quite masculine. My mom however loves it. On the plus side? it can be a shower staple for you and the man/men in your life. I am actually looking forward to trying the other two scents as this shower and shave mousse really became one of my favourite self care items.
Have you tried this before?
