My year in review #2019

Hello! Welcome back! Before I get into things, let me just say that I did not completely disappear – 2019 has been such a roller-coaster and I welcomed all of the changes with open arms. With that being said, Happy New Year to all of my readers. I wish you a year of prosperity, happiness, success, health and wealth (yes please!). Thank you for sticking around with me through all of my hiatuses, not wanting to blog and through my entire university career that saw me being absent from the blog a few times.

In January 2019, I remember sending out a tweet that read “Let the tears cried in 2018 be the nourishment to the soil in 2019” and I am in such awe of how I tweeted things into existence (for me). 2018 was a tough year for me at university and my personal life. When 2019 rolled around, I welcomed change with an open heart and arms. Here is what transpired last year…

University:  Finally!!! The end of an era. I finished my final day of university in June and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I can most certainly say that I am not an academic, I only enjoyed my practical subjects and of course I had to do both practical and theory subjects while studying. Most of the time when I went silent on the blog, it would be due to my university workload smothering me but now that I am finally done with my qualification – I want to get back into blogging because I truly did miss it. One of the things that I will mostly miss about studying is my friends. Now that we’re working people, we have to adult and we have to adult HARD! City Girl Vibe UniversityTravel: A few days after I finished my final exam at uni, I hopped on a plane and discovered the vibrant city of Istanbul. Its been a while since I last traveled and it was without a doubt one of the highlights of my year. I got to travel with my siblings and those long walks wandering the streets of Istanbul, exploring the vibrant souks and visiting the most beautiful historical locations around the city – will always be the best two weeks I have experienced in a loooong time.  Without giving too much away, I will be blogging about my trip over the next two weeks and I will most certainly make it budget friendly.City Girl Vibe x Istanbul TurkeyCity Girl Vive x Istanbul TravelInternship: As soon as I got back from Turkey, I started my internship at Keedo International. I can’t even begin to describe how much I enjoyed it and how much I have learned. I had my final assignment that I was working on for uni before graduating and  juggling that with work life consumed all of my time. I have some great career moves happening this year (God willingly) and I welcome 2020 with all if its changes in my professional life. City Girl Vibe x Keedo International InternMy new ride: You guys! If there is one thing that I am super grateful for then it would be my cute little ride. Let me just say that I have been driving the same car since I started driving about 8 years ago and my little car and I have been through some rough patches but it got me from point A to B over the years and we’ve had some fun together. From hiding out in there on days that we needed to go to class, to zooming around in the streets of Cape Town when going to Fashion Week – Tazzie will be missed. Here’s to many safe miles and memories in my new baby.6b613cd6-1eb1-4996-9392-188da4016826Graduation: Okay okay okay – to end off my year in December, I finally graduated! I may or may not have cried this day but I was so overwhelmed. It was one of the highlights of my decade…heck, of my life! It is something that I have been working towards for years and to finally have that day, it was something that I will cherish forever. City Girl Vibe x CPUT Graduation 2019And that is it for me.
