Happy Friday lovies! Today marks the last day of winter here in SA and I found such a fitting feature for FF this week. So I haven’t done a Fashion Friday post in two weeks but this was due to the fact that I had family visiting from the UAE and then also working on other content for the blog that I will be posting about over the next few weeks. Nonetheless, today I am back with yet another Fashion Friday post that is slightly different from my usual one item fashion edit. In this week’s edition I will be telling you about the one shade that I feel will be dominating the fashion scene, stores and your wardrobe this spring/summer.

That trend, or rather the colour that I am referring to is ‘’Ultra Violet”. Last year, toward the end of the year, Pantone announced that Ultra Violet would be the colour of the year for 2018. The shade Ultra Violet can be defined as a blue based purple. As stated by Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute, in a statement. “From exploring new technologies and the greater galaxy, to artistic expression and spiritual reflection, intuitive Ultra Violet lights the way to what is yet to come.”Not only do I feel like this colour trend will be a huge hit in the spring/summer months here in South Africa, it is such a seasonal appropriate for the colder months as well. I have seen the Ultra Violet 18-3838 being showcased in not only fashionable items but cosmetics as well.

This week, I went online and found so many items from accessories to homeware items that incorporate Ultra Violet 18-3838. This means that if you don’t fancy this colour in your everyday clothing, you can wear it on your nails or even in your perfume where you don’t even detect the colour.For my celebrity fashion inspiration, you can see that this week’s celeb fashion looks have embraced the red carpet as well as everyday wear. The versatility of this trend is notable. If I hadn’t been saving for some traveling in next year, I would definitely go for a different approach to the Ultra Violet trend and wear it head-to-toe with the stunning dress from Zando and sneakers from Spree (yes, I am a dress and sneakers kinda girl).
