On the blog today I will be sharing another staycation in one of my absolutely favourite locations in Cape Town. My readers seems to be enjoying my Staycation posts every once in a while and I really do enjoy staying over at hotels and luxury apartments so it’s a win win situation. Next week we will be observing the month of Ramadan رمضان so we wanted to do something before it starts and also before winter really kicked in. I have to admit that Lagoon Beach/Milnerton beach is my absolute favourite beach in Cape Town as opposed to the well known ones that everyone always raves about. In summer, long walks on Lagoon Beach is a MUST. The sunsets are spectacular and I always felt envious of the people that got to witness it in the apartments just on the beach shore. I always told myself that I would stay there even if it is only for a weekend and this weekend I did just that. I rounded my favourite people again and headed out to a place called Sunstays : Lagoon Beach. I’ve had a staycation in the luxury apartments right next door called Leisure Bay and I intend on staying at the all of the places on the Lagoon Beach strip… hopefully.
We stayed in the Luxury Sea View apartments that had the beach right on our doorstep. The Luxury Sea View Apartments are equipped with a kitchen, two bedrooms, two ensuite bathrooms, a lounge and a dining area that leads onto your patio. I made use of kitchen area this time as I really didn’t feel like it the last time we were staying over at Leisure Bay and I have to admit that the kitchen is equipped with everything you might need to cook dinner and its quite user friendly.
Before I channeled my inner Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen, I had to catch the sunset which is my favourite thing after the comfy beds. I suspect that the sunsets are the main reason behind the places name. I cannot even describe how picturesque the setting is when you’re standing on the beach, overlooking the ocean and watching the sky turn into different shades of orange. I sat on the beach front and waited for the sun to disappear completely before I headed back inside to cook dinner.
After dinner we watched a movie before turning into our cozy rooms with clean, fresh crisp white linen which is such a treat and somewhat an obsession of mine. Even though we were basically on the beach front, the rooms are quite cozy and I ended up sleeping without a blanket. I woke up somewhere between 3 and 3.30am to use the bathroom and took a peek out of the window where I saw that the security circles the apartments to ensure that everything is still safe which puts my paranoid self’s mind at ease. I really don’t want to get into too much detail about my stay at Sunstays: Lagoon Beach apartments as I do believe that everyone should stay there at least once. The prices are quite affordable and there are even secure parking for those staying over. Visitors are allowed till a certain time in the evening which is great because there are plenty of seating to “entertain” your guests. Apart from the great stay that we had, Sunstays are situated only 10 minutes away from Cape Town’s CBD and V&A Waterfront.
This is the perfect staycation for those that live in Cape Town and need a short little weekend break and even those from different cities or countries that need an affordable option that won’t break the bank. If you’re looking to explore in and around Cape Town, the staff at Sunstays can help you plan your activities such as a tour in the winelands or a round of golf to even a relaxing day at the spa.

Hey Tasneem,
Really nice post, mostly just because I can relate. I also took a trip to Lagoon Beach just last week, was so relaxing.
