Today I will be sharing my absolute favourite concealer with you – that is perfect for ladies with oily skin and combo/oily skin. I’ve been using this concealer religiously since January as you can tell that the packaging is quite beat up from going everywhere with me in my makeup bag. Avon for some reason always gets in right with concealers as I have used the colortrend concealer for years and decided to give this one a go. I am a girl on a budget so Avon is always a good choice for me. I flipped through the brochure and saw that this concealer retails for only R79.90 and came in 5 shades. The regular price for this concealer is R109.90 so I definitely didn’t need anymore convincing. Firstly, the shade medium is quite light so I decided to use it for highlighting my under eye area, the bridge of my nose, my forehead, chin and cupid’s bow. In the winter months when I am more pale this shade would probably suit my complexion better to cover up and breakout spots.
A little bit of this concealer goes a long way. I noticed that as a matte concealer it works great for my extremely oily t-zone and I require minimal setting powder. Surprisingly for a matte concealer this product is not drying at all and it blends quite easily. I have tried using a brush and a beauty sponge to blend this concealer but I find that the damp beauty sponge works better. The sponge pounces the product into the skin, whereas the brush moves the product around and make it blend streaky and blotchy.I have to admit, I quite like the applicator on the wand as it allows you to get precise application, especially under the eyes without messing up your eyeshadow. The product dries down quite fast so no need to wait a while before applying the rest of your makeup. If I really have to nitpick then it would be that people with dry skin should avoid this concealer, especially if you have dry spots on your face.
The consistency of the product is quite creamy and easily blendable. It is after all a matte concealer so I would suggest that you use a good primer or else the product sets into your fine lines especially around your nose and mouth area.
Would I repurchase this concealer? Absolutely! It is worth every scent.
