Today on the blog I’m kind of playing catchup and let you darlings in the loop on what can be expected from me in the next few weeks and what I’ve been getting up to. I may sound like I’m rambling on and on in this post but for some reason I love reading people’s ramblings because it makes you… You. Nobody wants to read press release type reviews that gets straight to the point as I like a bit of a background, or is that just me? I have lots of content ready to be posted but I like testing products thoroughly before posting it on the blog because I don’t believe in doing half a$$ reviews. Over the past two weeks I’ve received and bought so many goodies at the same time that it takes a lot of time to get through it all, luckily it’s no skincare products so I can get shooting product shots as soon as the weather decides to play along.
Product shots are such a pain in the behind for me as I have to rely on natural lighting because where I shoot my product shots, I only have 30 mins during the the day before the sun disappears behind the tall building opposite me. I don’t have fancy equipment like ring lights and photo editing apps so I have to work with mother nature. This week I’ve teamed up with an awesome chocolate brand where you darlings will get the opportunity to win some chocolate goodness so keep your eyes glued! Enough with the jibber jabber.
New in…

Beauty – I have some budget friendly reviews coming to the blog this week and next week. A few products I’ve been loving and some I’m undecided on. I bought myself a set of Hean Cosmetics makeup brushes… if I can advise you, go purchase your set now! I bought a few Design Cosmetics products at the Edgars sale and this coming weekend I’ll shoot a makeup look for the blog under R100. A few of the other products that will also be on the blog soon is the much coveted hair straightening brush and a review + makeup look on the Urban Decay Smoky palette.

Fashion – I love a good sale! I bought myself some tights at Mr Price Sport that I want to wear when I do the 10km Blisters For Bread walk at the end of the month. Then also on sale I bought this jersey knit dress at Woolworths that is so so so versatile. I’ve worn it with boots and sneakers and its super comfy. In Cape Town we’ve been experiencing our fair share of summer days so some days I opt for my beautiful beaded scarf that I got from Dubai rather than a jacket. Lastly I bought these sunnies at River Island yesterday and I have to say its better than all of the sunnies I have in my collection, higher end and budget. When I find a frame that suits my face, its like spotting a unicorn! I just had to have these.

Lifestyle – If you’ve been around here, you’d know I’m a canvas girl, I even showed you how to make a pretty lip print one. I bought two cute bunny canvases at Mr Price home and they are super pretty when hung in a boring dull space. Also a cute jar drinking mug/cup that I love throwing fruit or cucumber or lemons in which is easier than my usual bottle.

I’ve been making… some readers have asked me to share more of the garments I design and sew on the blog so I thought I’d share what I wore for Eid. I always find winter Eid garments a bit tricky because I’m a summer person and I much rather prefer a midi dress or skirt but I’m quite happy with how it turned out.
At the moment… I’m busy with assignments and helping my designer friend from Zoor Couture make matric dance dresses as matric ball season is coming up.
I believe… “When you have a million dollar vision, don’t surround yourself with 1 cent minds”.
And that’s a wrap! What have you been loving?
I definitely prefer more personal posts like these and not the more formal press release types. Your product shots are beautiful 😊 I would love to try those make up brushes! Like always, great post!
