Last week the amazing darlings over at Exposed by Her PR invited a select group of media to an intimate beauty class that highlights Bodyograpy’s latest must have products as well as teach us some tricks to flawless makeup application and beauty looks. Now usually when I can learn a thing or two about makeup … I jump at the opportunity. Believe it or not as a beauty blogger I can only do the basics like foundation application, a little bit of highlight and contour, blush, natural eyeshadow look, mascara and a statement lip. So when I get an invitation to attend a workshop to learn some makeup techniques by Jane from The Makeup Lowdown , I GO! The event was held at Mondiall Bar And Restaurant , which may I add has the most spectacular view of the V&A Harbour and Table Mountain. Fasting on this day was pure torture, Mondiall catered the most yummy looking treats but the fun that was had definitely made up for the fact that I couldn’t indulge in the spread of breakfast spoils.
We got accompanied upstairs to Mondiall’s private dining and conference room where we had our own little makeup station set up that would help us achieve the season’s hottest looks. Jemima challenged us to try the makeup look that Jane was demonstrating using some of Bodyography’s most sort after products. I loved how easy it was to follow Jane’s techniques and that was the look I wanted to recreate. Now one of Jane’s most emphasised words are B-L-E-N-D which I clearly need some work on but thanks to MUA bestie Zoor for helping a girl out.
In our goodie bags we got to fill a quad palette with eyeshadows and obviously I went with the shades that I used to create the above look. I will be doing a full review on it soon but I have to say that I am already highly impressed with the eyeshadow palette as I wore a white shirt on the day and there were no product fallout and my makeup lasted the entire day! A quick bit of product info: Bodyography products are cruelty free (brand plus) and it is stocked in over 30 countries.I have extremely sensitive skin and the products I tried out on my face complimented my overly sensitive skin perfectly. If you would like to try some Bodyography products, contact Finnis and Faye as they are the stockists of the brand.
Aside from getting to play with awesome makeup, my brain acted like a beauty blender sponge and I made some nifty little notes such as “the primer that you use for your face might not work as well on your eyelids” and “when you contour it should always be in line with your ear, make a little fish face to help you find the perfect spot” and “when you apply eyeshadow, always use the darkest shade on the outter corner of the eye”.
All these tips are definitely things that I will remember to help me up my makeup game and purchase the products that are suitable for my skin type.
Thank You Megan and Michelle for such an amazing event and morning filled with laughs, spoils and makeup heaven!
