Deadlines done, now I’m back to to blogging, reviewing products and taking pictures. As a lipstick lover, I don’t really switch shades or lean more toward darker shades in winter. I have however discovered that I gravitate toward more moisturising and creamier lipsticks as apposed to matte lipsticks. Today I’ll be showing you all my favourite lipsticks at the moment.Too Faced – La Creme Lipstick: (Shade) Spice Spice Baby
I am not a nude girl at all but for some reason this lipstick hits all the right spots. Its super creamy in consistency and very moisturising on the lips. This lippie appears nude in the tube but its very sheer and I find that when I line my lips with a nude lip pencil, it makes the colour pop way more. I have been experimenting with this shade, when I apply one layer of the Sephora lipstick on my lips and one shade of the Too Faced Spice Spice Baby lippie i achieve such a beautiful deep nude shade. I adore the packaging of this lippie, its quite sturdy and comes in a metal tube. Unfortunately Too Faced is not available in SA, Beautiful blogger bestie Diva Desle gave it to me (Ps she has a review up on her blog on the much coveted Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette) Sephora – Color Lip Last (Shade ) No 25
This is another gift from Desle and I’m almost 100% sure that it is the only “shimmer shade” in my lipstick collection. This lipstick is alot more pigmented than what it shows up in the picture. This lippie isn’t very moisturising but it isn’t dry like a matte. I’d say it has velvet finish with such a lovely hint of grape scent. This lippie looks pretty with a wash of the Too Faced lippie over. I love how this lipstick has little glitters in them that wears off as a lip stain if you’re too lazy to reapply. Avon – Ultra Colour Indulgence (Shade) Royal Peony
At first I had a love/hate relationship with lipstick and didn’t use it for about 2 months since buying it because the shade looked nothing to what it did in the brochure. After two months i whipped it out and started using it. The first thing I loved about it is the scent of it, it has a slight candy like fragrance that reminds me of my childhood. It is very moisturising in texture but very sheer in pigmentation. It feels very similar to my Too Faced lippie which is something quite awesome from a budget brand. It so amazing over my Mac Candy Yum Yum lipstick and will definitely make Candy Yum Yum worth wearing in winter to prevent those chapped lips. I would’t classify it as a lipstick but more as a lip balm. It comes in 10 shades and the last time i checked in the Avon brochure when I bought it, retailed for R139.95. Maybelline – Colorsensational (Shade) 365 Plum Passion
Without a doubt, this is my favourite lipstick at the moment. I’m really starting to love the Colorsensational range as I have another shade that made it onto the blog a while back . It is such a deep plum shade that feels amazing on the lips. When it wears off, I sometimes don’t reapply it because it has a lip tint effect. This lippie is quite versatile as one layer gives you a slight pink kiss (excuse the pun) to you lips and three layers a deep pigmented look. I thought I’d throw in some noteworthy info about a great promo that Clicks is currently running where you can purchase Maybelline products to the value of R225 and get a clutch free. I felt that it would be the perfect opportunity to experiment with foundation and I will definitely do a review for you darlings and maybe a 5 minute face post.Jet – Just Be Gorgeous
I forgot the name of the shade of this lipstick because I was so excited to try this lipstick. Now I’ve used Jet’s Just Be Gorgeous range of cosmetics before and I have to say that it is so so so so underrated. The quality of this lipstick surpass so many of my more expensive lipsticks and the pigmentation is amazing. This lipstick lasts through a 2 and half hour lecture with lots of water drinking and feels so smooth on the lips. I could kick myself for not popping more of these lippies into my basket but I will the next time I see it. It’s a deep fuchsia shade and has a lovely shine and slight shimmer to it when on the lips. Another great thing for those just testing the waters? it retails for under R20! Has anyone tried Jet’s range of cosmetics yet?
