Fashion Friday: Day 3 MBFWCT Next Generation Low down + Outfit

Today’s fash friday is slightly different. Ill be telling you about the awesome-ness that is Day 3 at MBFWCT. So I’ve been looking, stalking webtickets, entering numerous comps and asking around for anybody willing to sell their AFI Next Generation tickets but lady luck was definitely not on my side. One of my blog readers then tweeted me and offered me some tickets and I got to meet her too. This woman is a true unicorn in my eyes! I Thank You once again. Now one of the main reasons why I wanted to see that particular show is because I’m a huge supporter of up and coming South African designers. Tuelo and Tsotetsi’s  collection certainly didn’t disappoint. It truly was magical witnessing the future of South African fashion on the runway.

I’ve selected three of my favourite looks from Tuelo’s collection called Collectiv. Can we all just take a minute to admire these pieces? It screams summer with a mixture of soft feminine designs and bold colours. As a clothing and textiles student, I absolutely appreciate the construction of his garments. That Eton collar is such a breath of fresh air as opposed to the usual peter pan collar. I can see that playsuit being a staple in every girl’s wardrobe this summer.

Moving onto Tsotetsi’s  collection. One word – Perfection. I chose my top three and I have to say that I loved how versatile his collection was. I could picture each one of his designs in a different scenario… You know? I’m never a fan of sheer but this guy did it right! Fitted bodices, perfectly draped skirts, whimsically flowing dresses. I want.them.all. We had such great seats, I could snap away on my phone like cray. I was thoroughly impressed to see that there were so many people that came out to support these two designers. It was a full house! Bellow are a few of my faves that I shot on my phone. This is a 2 hour outfit before the show. I only found out the morning that I was going and I had to rush off to the fabric store to make this gathered skirt and lace top. I loved this print the first time I saw it. I have an identical top that I bought but the lace started looking Bleeeh so I decided to make a new one. I added this skinny belt to cinch in the waist, with some matching accessories from Edgars, my new fave Truworths boots that I got on SALE. My biker jacket is from Edgars too and my clutch was a gift from  my mom. She knows me all too well my mom.
?????????? unnamed (4) P.s excuse the bad outfit picture quality. I didn’t take my camera with me because… Effort.

    • Hi Lady Drummond!

I hope you’re well? What an awesome surprise having you visit City Girl Vibe! Unfortunately yes, I wish I could’ve attended more than one show but trying to get tickets … a mission on its own. I was lucky enough to score a set from one of my readers. I’m making sure that I’m first in line next year when tickets go on sale. I would’ve LOVE LOVE LOVE meeting you, but I’ll introduce myself next time I see you.

      Thanks for visiting 🙂
