Long time no Fashion Friday! Today I’m bringing you the latest trend under my fashion radar, the Kimono. Or should I say the modern kimono? I’m not really a trends follower, I wear whatever appeals to me and I’m a firm believer in comfort over anything else. Buuuut one trend that I’ve been loving and embracing is definitely the modern Kimono.

I feel that it can liven up any plain outfit and its such a great cover up for that late afternoon transition into night time. There’s so many takes on the style of the modern kimono but I’m besotted with the fringed kimono. I think it gives the garment more character and flow. If that even makes sense.
I bought mine at a store in Gatesville and decided that I might as well buy 3 because I loved them so much. They quite airy which is perfect for summer and replaced my usual cardigan that I would wear in summer. Let’s face it, a cardigan is not ideal summer apparel because Cape Town summers can get cray cray hot. I think as this trend dies out and I’m over the kimono, I’m probably going to cut the tassels off.

I was doing some price comparison on the net and found some beautiful kimonos for all price brackets. You know some lower priced ones from Mr Price for those on a budget like me, then a middle price bracket for those that have a few pennies to spare and then the higher end ones for those darlings that wants to go the whole nine yards and spoil themselves a lil.
