The sun is out in Cape Town but the temps are still down. No need to turn to the sweat pants though! You can still look “oh so chic” with one fashion trend that’s bracing every store, magazine and celebrity’s closet. Today’s Fashion Friday post is all about Houndstooth.

Nothing embody’s winter better than a houndstooth item in your closet. If Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Rag & Bone and Thom Browne all did it in their Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week Collections, you know its going to be a big deal! Houndstooth has been around since forever and its definitely going to be here for a little while longer.

The traditional black and white Houndstooth print is so classy. This fashion forward print is however seen in different colours such as red+black and cobalt+black. I’ve been browsing all the online stores [AS ALWAYS] and each and every one of them had Houndstooth items on them, even accessories. I put together a collage of all my fave finds for different price budgets so there’s definitely something for everybody. I think all the items on my list are quite reasonably priced. I’m loving the bag from Mr Price and the stunning little number from Style 36. If you’re not brave enough to go full on Houndstooth, I suggest the black number with minimum Houndstooth detailing as your choice.I always add celebrities to my Fashion Friday posts so that you darlings can find inspiration on how to pull a particular trend off and this week, there was celebrity houndstooth overload. I was tempted to put a picture of Lady Gaga in the mix but her outfit was just a tad too much so I went with 3 different dudettes wearing different outfits. Houndstooth + black = winter winner!
