At the moment City Girl Vibe is going through an Avon phase. I actually buy from Avon quite often because they are so affordable. Everybody knows that I’m a lipstick fan so I’m always keen to try new ones. Today Ill be reviewing the Shine Attract Lipstick with SPF 15.
The Shine Attract Lipstick comes in 10 shades and the colour that I’m using is Cherry Pie. I bought my lippie about 2 months ago and I paid R75 for it but in the latest brochure it retails for R112.95. Now let’s get onto the reviewing part of this post…Hmmm so I kind of have a love/hate relationship with this lippie. For what its worth, I think that the R75 that I paid for it its understandable but if I had to pay R112.95, I wouldn’t be too pleased. The love part – is that its extremely moisturising and has an amazing subtle scent which I love. It gives my lips a beautiful shine and also looks great over another lipstick. To me this lipstick is a like a tinted lipbalm because its not very pigmented. Another bonus is that it comes in a wide range of shades so you’ll get to pick and choose as you wish.
The hate part – is that there’s little product in this tube. You’ll only get like 4cm out of it and its thinner than your standard lipstick. Another thing that I’m not very fond of is that after a while when the lipstick starts to wear off, you start feeling a sand like residue on your lips.
I have figured out how to fix the residue problemo though. This doesn’t happen when A) You wear it over another lippie and B) You reapply it before it wears off. The fact that its moisturising makes me like it and its a nice subtle shade compared to my usual “WHAM BAM in your face” red and fuchsia lipsticks.
