Its been a while since I last did a review, so I thought I’d do a little blogging on something that I’ve really been loving lately. I like trying new eye pencils and eyeliners and its seldom that I find one that works really well
or maybe its just me being picky.
A few weeks ago I paged through the Avon brochure and stumbled upon their new Glimmersticks. They come in 8 different shades and they’re so winter/summer/spring appropriate because they have wide range of light and dark shades. I first went with a common colour called “Blackest Black” so that I can test them out before buying a whole bunch and finding out that they’re not too great. I love love love this eyeliner. If you want to play around and create a dramatic look, you can achieve it with this. If you want a subtle look, this works just as great. The roll up/down function is one of my most fave. Its hassle free and easy to use. The thing with eye-pencils are that you end up sharpening away so much of your pencil, where as with this little gadget you get the most out of it. It glides onto your water line effortlessly and doesn’t smudge at all. I love that you don’t have to put that much pressure onto your eye when applying it as you do with an eye pencil.
What they say :
The Glimmerstick claims to be waterproof and smudge proof.
What I say:
The Glimmerstick is smudge proof but not waterproof.
I’ve got light sensitive eyes (which is why I went for specs but Ill tell you about it next week) and whenever I’m exposed to too much light, my eyes tear. I could wipe the eyeliner off as my eyes teared but its not runny like mascara. Also after a few hours I got panda eyes(light panda eyes, not very noticeable) and I had to remove it and reapply. It starts fading after 9 hours, then I have to reapply it but that’s the duration that its supposed to last. I’m not quite sure if its due to the mascara or eyeliner but reapplying it was effortless.
At R49.95, I feel that its quite affordable and you get value for your money. I will test out the panda eyes theory again when I finally get my specs and see if its the mascara or eyeliner causing it. This has really become one of my makeup bag must haves. Definitely worth purchasing from your Avon representative.
I love the Glimmersticks from Avon. I have it in a beautiful Teal blue color.

Pandaeyes, -I hate when that happens. Especially when they come sneaking up on you and you’ve left the house assuming you look great:)
Definitely going to try this!
Nice review. I had this before but only ever used it on my upper lashline, although I liked the intensity of the black, I found it difficult to apply. Maybe it’s just me?
I find this eyeliner is really easy to apply, but I don’t usually apply liner to my upper lashline. I’m going to try that and see if I notice a difference in the ease of application!

I am surprised you didn’t find the eyeliner to be waterproof! The only time this eyeliner wasn’t completely waterproof for me was while snorkeling in Grand Cayman and that was a long day. I didn’t expect my make up to last.
