DIY Hair Doughnut

For summer I’m planning on doing lots of different hairstyles to change my look abit. Starting with hairstyle number 1 : I wanted something that could get my hair out of my neck but still look pretty.

I’ve been spotting these gorgeous buns and I’ve always wondered how girls got it so immaculate. I then stumbled upon something called a “hair doughnut” but I couldn’t find one anywhere so I decided to make my own.

•Firstly you need two socks… YES! SOCKS!
•You then have to cut the toes section off and roll it into a doughnut. Make sure you pull it stiff as you roll it or else it’ll be too sloppy to hold your hair.
•You then have to make your hair into a ponytail and put the doughnut onto it.
•Cover the doughnut with your hair and put an elastic on your hair that’s the same colour of your hair.
•Tuck the remaining hair in with bobby pins.

This hairstyle suits any hair length. I even did it to my sister’s hair. Lack of bobby pins made it a bit messy but let’s call it a messy bun for now. My sister has extremely long hair and this is how it turned out.

I then tried it on my hair which is shoulder length and to my surprise mine was a bit more trickier because of the layers that my hair is cut in. I will however do another post that shows everything step by step with pictures.

Tip: this hairstyle works best when your hair is no so cleanish. Maybe a day after your wash.

My top celebs rocking buns and now you can too!
