Getting Glamorized at the Go Glamour expo

image

Last week saturday I attended the Go Glamour expo at the CTICC despite the stormy weather in Cape Town and suffering from the Flu. This is also the reason why I haven’t posted all week last week.

I’ve been looking forward to the expo since July when Sam asked me to go on behalf of Salon Finder. These kind of events are most definitely up my alley and I mostly looked forward to the fab fashion and array of makeup + beauty products that would be showcased. I arrived at the CTICC and the first stand as coming through the door was NYX Cosmetics. I’ve never tried the brand but I always read positive reviews on beauty blogs and I’m convinced that I need to purchase some of their things as soon as my current makeup collection depletes.

Going around to all the stands looking at everything on display, from smelling perfume to watching ladies getting pampered from Sorbet, foot massages from Mangwanani Spa and beautifully dressed mannequins …

I found myself at the stage just in time for the fashion show where local designers such as Habits, Boy London, Chica Loca and Markham amongst many more showcased their spring/summer collection. Cape Town girlies are definitely awaiting Spring/Summer in anticipation after getting a little preview of what to expect in stores.

I loved how the crowd was always entertained. I particularly enjoyed this group on stage (forgot the name) dancing and allowing models to change into their outfits.

The Go Glamour Expo was indeed fun, I learned how to do a smokey eye and more about brands that I’ve only read about which I’m now leaning towards trying. I was blessed to be given tickets but I do however feel that R40 for a standard ticket and R60 for a VIP ticket is a bit pricey for the expo as not that much happens and the complimentary massage stands are always packed.

I look forward to this annual event and let’s hope that the expo gets abit more exciting! Kudos to the girls at the Go Glamour Expo ticket stands for sorting out my little hiccup *they score brownie points for that*.
