City Of Inspiration

As you know I’m pretty much obsessed with my City… Well who wouldn’t be? I do after all live in the World Design Capital and one of the world’s natural seven wonders is right here in the mother city… And that beauty is called Table Mountain!

This past weekend the world celebrated St Patrick’s Day and Cape Town celebrated along with everyone else. On the 16 of March, Table Mountain reflected a really captivating green colour, honouring St Patrick’s Day. It was totally AH-Mazing! Our wonderful mountain looked absolutely breathtaking along with the city lights. I always say that Cape Town’s city lights represents the dreams of many Capetonians and on March the 16th our city’s mountain indeed looked like a dream!

Well, trust me to make each and every occasion about fashion, seeing that we celebrating St Patrick’s Day, I thought why not show you how connected everything really is. In the Mood of St Patrick’s Day, I came up with a “Green” outfit for the ladies that celebrated with a night out on the town.

To me, you can never wear too much green, so in the outfit that I put together, there’s green popping out everywhere!
•This cute little Mr Price Number is gorgeous!
•Those stunning wooden heeled Peep toe heels are from Luella.
•The green hugger handbag is from Square moon bags.
•And lastly, no outfit is complete without some Sass Diva Jewellery!

Seeing that you’re on a girls night out, you have to eat right? Right! Well something light would do. This is how I’m sticking to the green theme by putting together the ultimate girly foodie to nom nom on, from a main dish to decadent choccies.
•Sushi at Baluga, Cape Town’s Fav hotspot where you find sushi like no other.
•Appletiser to quench your thirst -» Appletiser needs no explanation,
•After every good meal, you need some dessert. Why not some choc chip ice-cream!
•Then lastly some Aero choccie to end the night off.

So driving around the city and experiencing its spectacular views, you going to need your own ride! I think the ideal car for a girl and her BFFs would have to be a Mini Cooper [I♥MiniCooper].

There is no doubt that Cape Town is definitely a city of inspiration! Without even noticing, everything in the city are always connected! THE CITY LINKS US! Here’s to celebrating St Patrick’s Day in style.

Decléor, Disaster clearup

To me its really difficult finding good quality products that doesn’t cause an allergic reaction to my face. Out of all the things I review and use, I never use any of the products on my face.

I love makeup… Its one of my biggest weaknesses and sometimes water or wipes just doesn’t remove all your makeup and your pores ends up clogged. A month back, Decléor sent my mom and I, Aroma Cleanse – Cleansing milk face & eyes and Tonifying Lotion.

Since using the Aroma Cleanse – Cleansing milk face & eyes and Tonifying Lotion, I have to admit my face is more softer and it has a natural glow to it. The cleansing milk dissolves make-up and impurities from the face and eyes, that built up on the skin.

What I love about the Cleansing Milk is that its suitable for all skin types, including mine that can barely take anything on it and it contains essential oils of Lavender, Petitgrain and Mallow soften that leaves your skin feeling calm, lighter and more balanced from day to day.

┏▶Directions for use-
I apply the Cleansing Milk and massage it into my face with my fingertips and do it in a circular motion for about 3 minutes then remove it with cotton pads.

• Tonifying Lotion
The pink tonifying Lotion is an alcohol free toner that’s suitable for any skin types and its not as harsh on the skin like most toners. It refreshes my skin and complexion. I use it immediately after the Cleansing Milk and results are visible from the first use. Ever since using these amazing products I’ve got less blackheads and my face is more hydrated!

┏▶Directions for use-
I apply my Tonifying lotion to my face and neck using a cotton pad. I use both the Cleansing and Tonifying lotion twice a day.

So I’ve come to the conclusion that Decléor’s Cleansing Milk and Tonifying lotion is like a mini facial in a bottle. Its so easy to use and you don’t have to feel as if its a chore because you actually enjoy the whole applying process. If my advice ever counted as to having the most healthy beautiful glowing skin… Then I would Recommend Decléor… Not only these two amazing products but their entire range!

Puuurfect Obsession

Since the age of 6 years old I’ve been crazy about “hello kitty” as years went by I thought… Aah well I’d probably get over it, hmm well things didn’t quite happen that way. I now find myself loving Hello Kitty even more! Recently I downloaded a Hello kitty Java game onto my BB and I’ve been playing it till my last “Hello Kitty London Adventure”.

Being the internet addict that I am, I always find really cute Hello Kitty goodies whether its clothing, accessories or even little souvenirs… I LOVE THEM ALL! Well let me show you an entire outfit made up of hello kitty goods that I would kill for!

The little dress is really cleverly thought up and I would definitely rock it with some black leggings. The designer definitely knew just how to incorporate the red bow with the red button on the left hand side. As soon as my sewing skills improves, I might just attempt making this cute little number.

I just love those peep toe heels! Its made up of diamante and glitter detail. The thing about this stunning heels is that you can wear it with absolutely anything! I think it would look gorgeous paired up with some skinny jeans or even a bootleg jeans.

My fav would so have to be the handbag! I think its so cute! Better than any other designer handbag that I’ve ever seen. I love how the pink blends in with the black shades and forms the maroonish colour and I think the pink bow is just the cherry on the top to give it that finish look.

Just when I thought that my Hello Kitty obsession has reached its peak, I stumble across these accessories that’s got my heart bleeding for it!

•I’ve always had a weakness for jewellery and what makes matters worse with this chain, is that it has bling…

•The first thing that came to mind when I saw the black Ugg booties is that *This is Puuurrfect for Cape Town’s winters*. We usually experience the hottest summers and even colder winters and this would be ideal for those cold winters days in the mother city.

•Who doesn’t love makeup?! MAC is known for their quality makeup and this shades of lippies are just amazing! I love the funky Hello Kitty print on it.

•I’ve never really been big on head gear but since seeing this Hip cerise cap, its really given me second thoughts and I’m kinda loving the idea of it. This cap goes perfectly with the second MAC lippie and I can totally see myself wearing it since all these different shades of pink are my fav colours!

Its pretty clear that not only kids loves Hello Kitty, Lady Gaga has shown her love for hello kitty many occasions by rocking an edgy hairstyle with her hello kitty bow inspired do that’s on the side of her head and a straight cut fringe to top the look.

Here’s some celebs that’s rocking some Hello Kitty and looking smashing as always, whether its random snapped pictures of them out shopping like South Africa’s own Charlize Theron to red carpet moments with Katy Perry.

Camping With a bit of Glam

A few weeks ago all those jhb hunnies had the opportunity to rub shoulders with the “who’s who” of local celebs and learn all there is to know about fashion, beauty and just practically being pampered and spoilt rotten.

Us Cpt chicas were green with envy, wishing we were there. I was pretty bummed not being able to attend the event as those kinda things are so up my alley! At least I got to see a little sneak peek of what happened at the event as everybody brought the fun to twitter and tweeted pictures of their experience and what went down at the Glam Camp. It was awesome seeing everybody having fun and I think Bonang arriving by helicopter would have to be the highlight of the event.

Well being the awesome people that the Brutal Fruit team are, sent out amazing hampers to some of their fans that so wanted to be at the Glam Camp but couldn’t attend seeing that we lived all over SA(but jhb) and I happen to be one of 25 people, out of thousands of fans that got a hamper for my BFF and I *Happiness*. I was super excited to get that little piece of heaven! #HowAwesomeIsThat?!

My hamper was jam packed with Vouchers from sunglasshut, Carlton hair, Edgars. Some really awesome magazines, Lux products, yummy chocolate … Amongst other things! How’s that for some serious making up?!

I hope Brutal Fruit can bring this event to Cape Town… All us Cape Town chicas would appreciate it! Weeks on the BF Glam Camp still has everybody talking and even made the march issue of TV Plus and as seen in the pictures… Local Sa celebs were all over the place! Speak about a glamorous event worth attending.

With that being said… A huge thank you goes out to team #BrutalFruit for the awesome hampers… I can feel some pampering coming on!

Whats Does Your Fragrance Say About You? ☺

Seeing that smell is one of the 5 senses, I believe your perfume should be the one thing that should be the object that makes a statement without saying a word. Not everybody can see, but everybody (well majority) can smell. Usually its your clothes that makes a statement but I think that your perfume is more captivating!

As you all know that your perfume says a lot about you and your personality… Well if you didn’t know, now you do. I’ve got a few bottles of different perfumes depending on my mood on a particular day and I guess that’s just how it goes with some people in general. Some days my perfume doesn’t appeal to me at all where as the next day I’m totally loving it!

Many times a good bottle of perfume might be a bit pricey but in the end its worth every spray because it lasts longer on your skin/clothing and you don’t have to spray again during the day where as with deodorants and body sprays you have to spay twice maybe thrice to stay fresher for longer.

BIGGEST NO NO’s when it comes to
perfume:

» Never drench yourself in perfume because you might just push people away causing their allergies to act up where you’re actually supposed to attract them.
»When using oriental perfumes, do not use too much as it is the heaviest fragrance.
»Buying a specific perfume and not knowing which one works for you.

So I’ve taken the most popular fragrances and compiled a small paragraph as to what each one says about you, starting with:

FLORAL
Floral Fragrances would have to be the most popular one of out the lot because it appeals to woman of all ages. Floral scents mostly consists out of Jasmine, Roses, Lavender and Geranium. Wearing floral Fragrances you automatically feel feminine, soft, shy but yet sexy. Floral fragrances are like summer bottled and formed into a perfume.

WOODY
Woody Fragrances consists mostly from natural extracts such as bark, sandalwood, amber and cedar wood. It has mostly earthy tones to it. Any Woody scents would mostly appeal to you when you trying to make a professional statement and you’re feeling sophisticated. This fragrance are most suitable for cooler evenings.

CITRUS
Citrus fragrances are mostly extracts of lemon, lime and oranges. It is ideal for milder weather conditions and it has a tangy, zesty aroma to it that doesn’t only leave you refreshed but also the surroundings you’re in which generally uplifts your mood and is also associated with happiness.

ORIENTAL
Oriental Fragrances are warm, spicy, rich fragrances that’s always associated with a mysterious and exotic mood. Its not only suitable for cooler conditions but also hot sultry climates. Oriental fragrances are the heaviest of them all and are bound to make an impact.

Women loves feeling attractive and being the centre of attention, nothing exudes more confidence than a good looking Lady that carries herself with pride and leaves a lovely trail of heavenly scent behind.

My Pledge To A Wedge

Women loves shoes and shoes equals= happiness, every year I see heels going higher and higher where as I’m still left behind trying to manage the little 8cm heel and finding my balance. One pair of heels that’s got me feeling like conquering the world would definitely have to be the perfect Wedge!

I’m pretty sure majority of you would agree with me when I say that wedges are by far the most comfortable heels that one could wear. I absolutely love high heels but after a few hours it becomes a mission to walk in, until I’ve discovered the wonders of a pair of Wedges!

Wedges comes in all shapes and sizes and they are just one of those pairs of shoes that every girl should have in her shoe closet, no shoe collection is complete without it! Not only are wedges comfortable but they’re super stylish too. Wedges are so diverse, they even come in forms of boots so you’re never phased with the dilemma of having to wear uncomfortable boots in winter.

My first pair of wedges is a pair of Black peeptoes by Kelso that I bought from Edgars. I love the pin up look that it has and I can basically wear it with anything. It looks quite classy with a dress and real sassy when paired up with a pair of jeans.

After falling in love with my black wedges, I took it a step further and got a pair of really fashionable Plum Delicious wedges that doesn’t need any introduction because their shoe collections are breathtaking! Season in and season out they always wowing fans with fabulous shoes like their latest 2012 winter rage.

And finally my latest wedge addition to my shoe collection, is this really cute floral print wedge that I adore! Its not high nor low and its perfect for summer! I could stare at them over and over!

Celebrities loves heels but there comes a time where they need a break from those high inches and opt for something more comfortable but yet stylish and instead of flats, they go for sexy wedges. Below are my favourite celebrity looks!

Feel Like A Rainbow after using Rain

As you know, I’m big on locally produced products especially if they really are magical. Recently I’ve discovered an amazing store in the V&A Waterfront that’s got me in Awe and recommending them to everybody that “smells me” or comes into my room and admires my really amazing silver candle with the most stunning design on it and its produced by “Rain- Created for living”.

What I love most about Rain is that everything is hand produced and its made right here in Swellendam, South Africa with 8 retail stores and is making waves overseas with a retail store in New York and one franchise store in Amsterdam.

Not only does “Rain- Created for living” produce such unique products but also creates employment opportunities for those facing a bit of a struggle. The quality of their products are evident from the first time you use it and what really impressed me, is the fact that none of their products are tested on animals and are made from only natural products!

This pass weekend was the first time I started using my African Rain Bath Salts after a long day of shopping and I have to say… It was INCREDIBLE! Like heaven in a grain of salt! I’ve been on my feet all day and I felt like I couldn’t take another step. I got home and soaked my feet into some hot water, added some African Rain Bath Salts and relaxed.

Last week monday I started using my Wild Cotton Mist perfume from rain and I’m in love! I wore my pink cardi on monday, then again on Saturday and I didn’t have to use perfume again because the scent was still in it as from the first time I used it. It has a really fresh smell and definitely is one of those fragrances that’s value for your money. I’ve been using it for a week and my bottle is still topped as you don’t have to spray lots onto your clothes because of the quality that one spray holds!

The one item from my “Rain- Created for living” goods that I would forever love, would have to be my stunning candle! Its a life saver and also extremely stylish! When half of the city were left in the dark due to a power cut, I had the pleasures of a brightly lit candle that brightened up my entire room and also blessed my room with most alluring scent.

“Rain- Created for living” sells a variety of products, the wonders of their products cannot be summed up into one blogpost but I can guarantee you that their products are extremely worth every cent you pay not only in satisfaction but also quality. I would recommend them through and through. Its like bottling fresh rain, along with the ocean and a garden filled with your favourite flowers!
