Its my birthday today, I’m turning twenty, I’m going to have a ball and party plenty. Come join in the fun and celebrate, off to the waterfront we go, let’s not be late. We’re doing the City Sightseeing blue route tour, where the Cape peninsula is what we’ll explore. Outside the aquarium we hop on the bus, where the adventure begins and excitement befalls us As we depart and cruise through the city, we gaze at sights so gorgeous and pretty.
Like true tourists is how we behave, as we sit on the top deck while at us people wave. As we ascend up De Waal Drive, we experience the scenic beauty which makes our city thrive. The view is amazing and absolutely stunning, no wonder Cape Town is ranked as Africa’s leading destination for the 3rd year running We can’t wait to hop off at Kirstenbosch, because the botanical gardens are extremely posh. The blossoms are bright and the grass is lush green, its the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. Let’s hop back on the bus and move along to Hout Bay, we’ll visit World of Birds and watch the monkeys play. We can then visit Mariners Wharf for a delicious lunch dish, made up of chips and yummy fried fish. After our scrumptious fish and chips meal, we head down to the harbour to feed the mummy and baby seal. Back on the bus and all around the peninsula we go, on our panoramic drive as we watch the blue ocean waves move to and fro. Its delightful smelling the fresh ocean air, and feeling the breeze blow through our hair. Next stop is the trendy suburb of Camps Bay, where the rich and famous come out to play. Let’s get an ice-cream from the vendor on the beach, my favourite flavour is chocolina or passionate peach. Now back on the bus as we head to the final stop, let’s enjoy our last moments on the bus with the open top. I can’t believe its over quite so soon, no wait, we can still party by the light of the moon. The day was filled with laughter and fun, I can’t wait for my next birthday when I turn twenty-one.

Sewing the Seams of an LBD
So I know you’ve probably heard this a million times… but I’m going to say it again… EVERY GIRL NEEDS A LBD!!!
I’ve briefly touched on the “importance” of a LBD in one of my previous posts (A designers mannequin) but I guess one paragraph is just not enough. Believe it or not, there’s some that doesn’t know what “LBD” stands for so now I’m going to sew together my blogpost on my thoughts and views on a little black dress.
Black is just that one colour that one can never go wrong with, be it male or female and nothing says “LOOK AT ME NOW” better than a little statement piece that doesn’t only make you stand out from the crowd but also shows your curves in all the right places.
I absolutely love black and I always mix it up with some bright colours and awesome accessories to give my outfit that extra sparkle without me looking goth like.
LBD’s comes in all designs and lengths and it doesn’t matter if you’re dressing it up for a corporate function, a social cocktail do or even just a night out on the town with your girls.
Way back in 1926, Coco Chanel introduced the concept behind “The little black dress” and decades later this is still the answer to many women’s question ‘what to wear?’. Fashion comes and fashion goes but the little black dress is the only item, along with a good pair of jeans that will never go outdated.
“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” ― Coco Chanel
At the 2012 Grammy Awards, LBD’s were all over the red carpet, and the leading ladies that rocked their red dresses in a variety of styles, such as Adele wearing a three quarter length sleeved dress, covered in black sequins and clinched in at the waist by a black grosgrain panel on the front, were definitely the stars of the evening, not only looking gorgeous but also scooping up all those awards.
As merely an idea, the little black dress has gone on to represent the height of chicness , to being a staple in women’s closets be it the rich and famous to the ordinary working girl. Black dresses are the only garment where style, size and price holds no limit, whether you’re a size 8 or an 18, wearing a dress from Mr Price or a designer dress from Gavin Rajah… we all need a LBD!
The Bell of the Ball\̽▴̲̊̽▴̲̊̽̽▴̲̊̽/̽
I’ve never really shared lots of pictures of myself or do personal posts on my blog, until I stumbled across my Matric Farewell photographs on my desktop the other day and decided to share a few of my favorite ones, my dress and my close friends. I browsed through my album and it really brought back so many memories and I felt kinda sad because I wanted to do Matric all over again… Well minus the work load of course!
Going through my pictures I was so amazed as to how many of my classmates got married and now have kids… Even though its barely 3 years back. I have no intention of going down that route, well not now anyway. First comes studies -» then comes some work-» shopping overseas to buy a handbag which’s name I can’t even pronounce-» and then only wedding bells(When I meet Mr.Right)!
My dress was everything I hoped and wished for… Nothing too over the top but it was quite cute… I got it as a gift from my aunt as she lives in Dubai, so it was really special to me. My dress was a two piece set that looked like a full dress when wearing it, with amazing beading detail from the chest down and a pair of gold heels that matched my clutch bag. I think I’m one of the very few girls that I know of that didn’t make a big fuss about their Matric dance but I enjoyed it thoroughly! From the morning waking up then going to the hair salon to get my hair pinned up, then to the beauty salon to get my nails + MakeUp+ Eyebrows (#Painful as it was my first time) and finally home to get dressed for this much awaited event.
I think a girls Matric Farewell is the second most important event after her wedding, that she looks forward too. Its like kissing 12years of schooling goodbye! (Which still brings me to the question… When in life will I be using the x+y method? Mathematics baffles me! #Random). I remember being excited since the 11th grade as I knew its a few months closer as to where I get to pack away my school uniform and trade it in to look like a princess!
I attended my Matric dance with one of my guy friends as I’m “anti BF” as a partner because who wants an ex boyfriend in their photographs as it should be your memories that lasts forever and marks the highlight of your schooling career instead of the thoughts of how you broke up (LOL just my opinion).
My evening was a blast from start to finish! The food was amazing even though I didn’t eat much. I have to admit… My feet behaved relatively well in high heels seeing that I’m not too good at wearing those even though I love it to bits! On the night of my dance I met some amazing new friends that I’ve built friendships with and its always nice meeting new people, even though I don’t see them much but thank goodness for social networking that helps me stay in touch with them and in the loop of who’s wedding I should RSVP to next.
The most awesome moment was walking down the red carpet with my partner by my side and having people snap pictures of us… It felt like a premier of a movie [LOL I wish], how ironic seeing that the whole event was being filmed.
Thanks to my mom and aunt for not having mini heart attacks after all my melt downs and fabric malfunctions with my dress alterations and even being “fashionably late” for my dance! And when a girl says that her dance isn’t a big deal… THINK AGAIN! Its the night where you pack away that dreadful uniform and become the BELL OF THE BALL!
Salon Finder – A cut above the rest
So ladies… And gents, As you all know my blog is about helping people scout out amazing new products and places and I just happen to find a diamond in the rough! I’ve never blogged about something like this before but I just had to share it. You know how difficult it is finding a spa or salon in your area? And even the internet can be a bit tricky because there’s no direct information as to where to go and even info about a particular spa or salon.
Well as women, we all love a good pamper session and we need a bit of a break sometime. A while back, I discovered this really awesome service that’s called “Salon-Finder”. Salon-Finder is a new internet directory service for salons and spas! (How Amazingly awesome is that?!) Isn’t this the answer to every girls dream?!. Salon-Finder helps you locate spas and salons in and around your area (Southern Hemisphere). Salon finder is so to the point… You can actually search for a specific treatment at the spa in your area!
This amazing service was started by a wonderful woman named Samantha Currie and I’m pretty sure that you’ll agree that she deserves a whole day of pampering for coming up with an idea like this! and my “AAHA!” moment that really added 10 gold stars to this magnificent service is, not only does it look for salons but also informs you about monthly specials AND does product reviews for those that cannot afford spas when they kind of in a tight spot and needs some “middle of the month” pick me ups.
I’m totally impressed by the exceptional services that salon finder offers and to top it all, all this information is free! The site is so easy accessible, whether you’re browsing it from a pc or even your mobile, it really is user friendly and you won’t find yourself hopping from page to page looking for information because everything is too the point!
So I believe that everybody should hop on over to

⌣̊┈̥-̶̯͡⌣̊┈̥-̶̯͡Malée Magic⌣̊┈̥-̶̯͡⌣̊┈̥-̶̯͡
So today I’ve started using my new range products that Malée sent me, I have to say that I’m blown away! I smell like a flower from head to toe… Literally! I usually call my monday routine “My Malée Mondays” because I wash my hair with Malée Shampoo and Conditioner then follow with the Verdure Hydrating Body Creme.
What amazes me about Malée is that even after 2 days of using the hair products, the scent is still in my hair and it even rubs off onto your pillow and you get that fresh smell when lying your head down to sleep. I have to admit that my hair is more shinier and looks more healthier since using my Verdure Malée Replenishing Shampoo and Nourishing Conditioner. I’ve been using my Malée Shampoo and Conditioner for a while and I love it that I don’t have to use huge amounts to cover my entire head.
Thanks to the Malée Team I’ve been rocking kissable red lips using Mandarin Orange Lip Balm that’s been protecting my lips from the harsh Cape heat and also makes me want to share Ķιѕѕěŝ all around. Using the lip balm I don’t have to use any gloss because it has its own colour and shine so you actually have two products in one!
Along with my new Malée goodies, I received this really cute tin of cuticle balm that I started using right away. As I applied it I could feel that it started working immediately, I now use it twice a day and my cuticles are feeling much more moisturised and less ragged. Not only does the cuticle balm strengthen ones nails but also gives it that glow and you can feel the difference.
Something from the new range that I’ve never seen any other brand produce before, would have to be the Verdure and Ochre Solid Perfume. This cute little gadget has my wrist smelling very “eatable”(LOL). Its so easy to pop in my handbag so I end up carrying it everywhere I go.
All Malée’s products ingredients are natural and even the whole range’s packaging has now been converted to eco-friendly, frosted glass bottles. Who wouldn’t want to support a brand who doesn’t only make you feel fabulous but at the same time saves our planet?! #GottaLoveMalée
All in all I would recommend this really amazing beauty brand to anybody anyday! One session with your Malée products and you’ll feel as if you’ve been pampered in one of the most high class spas. There’s no second guessing as to why Malée is in every magazine. With that being said, I leave all of you with Mandarin Orange Lip Balm Ķιѕѕěŝ

Confessions Of A Handbag Lover
So I’ve been “Handbag Crazy” ever since I can remember and my handbag collection is finally growing! Whoever said that you don’t find stunning handbags unless its designer definitely does not have a good eye for beautiful, quality handbags and doesn’t appreciate the beauty of it. I might only have two “Name Brand” handbags but I absolutely love each one of my babies equally!
My latest addition is a really cute Shopper Canvas handbag that I bought from Mr.Price and I can’t wait to sport it. I love the bright colours and vintage feeling that the brown handles and buckle adds to it. It reminds me of a lovely summers day in Cape Town. Seeing that we’re heading to winter I guess my new Shopper Canvas will be my reminder of summer(I’m a summers girl).
When going handbag shopping, I never really walk into a store with the intention of choosing a specific handbag, I usually go for the one that “speaks to me” the most. I L-L-Love rather oversized handbags because I carry lots of things around with me and I call my bag my life so I carry my life around with me (LOL)
I’ve always loved Juicy Couture and last year for my birthday, when my sister bought me a Juicy Couture Handbag while on holiday in Abu Dhabi … I felt like I was in handbag heaven! (No words can describe how happy I was… Still am).
Whenever going anywhere, you’d never find me without a handbag… Its either a shoulder bag or a satchel! I love handbags! From here on in Ill continue adding to my handbag collection.
GO BAG OR GO HOME!!!
