Today I’m going to share all my fave accessories that I’ve been loving lately. I’ve got my own mini collection of accessories but there’s always some pieces that I reach for more than others. I can truly say that majority of accessories are from Mr Price. At the moment Mr Price is really wowing me with their Collaborations and on trend fashion/accessories in store.
Now if you’re a regular on the blog you’d know that I’ve got a huge love affair with bangles so obviously I had to include it onto my list. My top 5 summer accessories are: Gold Headband from Mr Price: This is definitely my summer lifesaver. It keeps my hair out of my neck and it looks supper pretty. With most headbands I tend to get a headache after wearing it for a few hours but not with this one. I got this headband at a steal for only R29.99. There’s so many ways to use it but this is my go to hairstyle. Owl Cuff from Scarlett Boulevard: I’m so bummed that Scarlett Boulevard closed down. I did however manage to buy a few things before they did. I love owl accessories and this is one of my faves. Its not very bulky like most cuffs and it looks pretty expensive. Drop feathers gems earrings from Mr Price: This is definitely my most loved pair of earrings for summer. It has this whole boho chic feel to them and they were on sale for only R19.99. If you love colour and feathers … GET THIS! Spikes style gold and turquoise necklace from Scarlett Boulevard: At the moment I’m thinking of ways to give this necklace a serious DIY. I hate that the colour came off. Being light of complexion made it a nightmare because it rubbed off on my neck (not a pretty sight). I have managed to put clear nailpolish on it to prevent it and it still remains my best neck piece. Gold “Lady Like” bangles from Mr Price: saving the best for last. The best R30 I’ve spent on accessories. I love that these bangles can’t be separated because that is how I loose them. Another bonus is that they are nickel free. They look so pretty paired with the proper outfit.

With varsity out of the way (till February, yeah!!), I will be more vocal and pay much more attention to social media sites and the Karabossie jewellery line.
I’ve had my Lookbook account now for almost 3 years but never really posted any looks on it. If I did upload a look, I either removed it for some reason or forgot my password. With my password safely written down in my secret book, hidden in my secret place, I’ve decided to post a look I had to model at a Jaymila Swaggz networking event. I’d like to tell you that the name for this particular look ” Afro Saturdays” was well thought out and that the inspiration for this name came to mind while I was sipping on Margaritas in the Caribbean, overlooking the tranquil ocean. Truth is, the fashion show was on a Saturday and I have a afro. Point I’m trying to make is that it really is that simple, anyone can do this and who knows, you might be the inspiration behind someones look. Now Lookbook enables you to upload a look that you rocking for the day, edit the photos, fan people whose outfit choices inspire you or just hype (like) a particular outfit. It truly is an amazing website which I think would inspire everyone. If in need for inspiration on what to wear to a club, date or to make an ex-boyfriend painfully jealous, this indeed my honey blossoms is the puurfect site to visit (grrrr…. meow).
I’m not really a fan of celebrity fragrances because they always seem to make my nose itch non stop and they smell way too sweet. This reminds me of cheap perfume that one would pick up at the R10 store. However, one celeb’s fragrance whom I adore is without a doubt Britney Spears.
I was a huge fan of her curious fragrance and I remember using it religiously. I’m now currently using her Fantasy/ Midnight Fantasy. Firstly I was drawn to the bottles. Its simply amazing! What I’ve noticed about her fragrances are that the staying power is incredible. 2 spritz and you’re set for the entire day and the next time you wear the item of clothing again, the scent will still be present.
Now with this fragrance, when you pull it apart you’ll find two bottles. I think its the perfect size to pop into your handbag. I tried choosing my fave one but I honestly can’t because both of them smells divine. When sprayed onto yourself, it comes across as a sweet floral fragrance but after a while the sweetness fades and the perfume starts to smell really “high end”. I won’t get into the whole different notes thing but this is one of my fave perfumes at the moment, if I was really forced to choose then I’d go for the Midnight Fantasy.
So I was thinking, seeing that City Girl Vibe turned 2 recently and I was so caught up in exams that I didn’t even have time to blog or mention it, it would be the perfect opportunity to spoil my readers. I will be launching another giveaway soon so keep an eye out for that too.
This is a easy giveaway. I don’t want you to go through a 101 steps because I hate that in comps and you don’t have to tweet or post repetitively(no 10 tweets a day) because I hate that in a comp even more. So for this giveaway you can either like my Facebook Page and tag me in a comment with a link to this post or Tweet about the giveaway and mention @CityGirlVibe with a link to this post. Comment below with your Twitter/Facebook hand.
Easy, Peasy, Lemon Squeezey
Comp Ends at month end.
Happy 1st week of November Darlings … Or should I say Movember? I can’t believe that its that time of the year where men grow their stache in support of prostate cancer and testicular cancer to help raise money and awareness to combat this disease.
I’m not exactly the biggest fan of facial hair but all in the good spirit of awareness and support, I’m supporting Movember. Earlier in October Team City Girl Vibe was invited to an informative Movember launch at The Harley Davidson Clubhouse where we enjoyed an evening of entertainment by the awesome aKING as well as Dean Fuel. Aside from the entertainment, we also learnt the eye opening truths and stats of prostate cancer.
Now ladies, you might not want to grow a mo for a month but there are other ways to show your support like donning Movember accessories? Baking cupcakes in Movember wrappers? Buying a calendar? Or maybe just letting your man grow his stache? But if you really want to help, sign up at movember.com and see how you can make a contibution.
To lighten the mood a teeny tiny bit, look at my awesome man candy of the week. Maybe this will be some encouragement for the ladies. Whoooeeee! This week just got a whole lot shweeeter.
I’m a huge Seventeen Magazine fan (Yes I read Seventeen Magazine and Yes I love it) and I particularly love it when they include fab goodies in their magazine. To be totally honest I get most of my blog ideas and inspiration from magazine’s because I practically live in them, Seventeen in particular. The products in the mag is affordable because its aimed at us budget girls, which brings me to today’s post.
In the November issue you’ll find an eyeliner and Lipgloss(Liquid liner freaks me out so I’m reviewing the lipgloss). Now 1st of all this lipgloss intrigued me. I’m not a lipgloss fan but because I read something along the lines of “Emotionally Activated Lip Gloss” I WAS SOLD!
I’ve never used Miss Signature products before so I was quite excited to try this gloss out. When in the tube its clear but after a few seconds when applied to the lips, it turns into a light pink. Half an hour in, it turned into a darker reddish-pink. I don’t know what happened or even if its really emotionally activated but it changed colour. Maybe I was excited because I finished at campus early but the fact remains … IT CHANGED!
I must admit that I really like this gloss. Its the perfect constancy between runny and thick. I also love the strawberry scent. The staying power is good and I didn’t have to reapply it that often during the day. This is my new bestie on those days when I have a quick errand to run.
There’s also a fab spread in Seventeen on a selection of Miss Signature cosmetics and I’m quite keen to try it out. Let me also add that the prices are AH-MAZING! Its in the same price range as Essence, Catrice & Wet n Wild. These are a few of the products that I’m dying to get my hands on in the mag. OH OH OH! Before I forget, in the mag this month you’ll get a R50 off voucher that you can use on Miss Signature cosmetics (You’re Welcome). Check out their website for a list of their stores & all the fab things in their range.
Another day, another blogger. Today I’m taking a looksee in the bag of the ever so beautiful Leigh that blogs over at Le1ghlo.
I love reading Leigh’s blog and getting the LO-down on everything that’s happening in Jozi. If you’re a Joburg dweller and love trying out new bars, clubs, coffee shops and bakeries, then I suggest you hop on over to the fab Leigh’s blog and get the scoop on everything that’s hot and happening in your city. Even if you’re not from JHB, you can also read some beauty reviews, posts on fashion and all that Jazz. See why I love reading her blog? SOMETHING for everybody!
Now let’s see what Leigh carries in her handbag :
Let me just take a second and tell you how jealous I am of her handbag and how awesome is the Marni Scented Handbag Doll? I need.want.must-have one of those.
