Out Of Office.

I may have mentioned it on my social media platforms before but for those of my readers that don’t follow me on Twitter and Facebook *gasp* You don’t follow me on my SM sites?! … Anyway I’ve left the country for a few weeks and will be back in the new year. I consider it as a much needed break and definitely some down time as I’ve had a extremely busy, hectic and chaotic year.

Excuse my absence on the blog and everywhere else. I haven’t even been sharing snippets of my trip on SM because I’ve been having so much fun and when people have fun, they don’t take pictures. Maybe when I’ve come to terms with how beautiful this place is, I’ll start posting o Instagram. But for now, Thank You for sticking around and I will try to post next week.

Ooh yes… I’m in Dubai!Dubai_3050265k

Fashion Friday: Joggers

I haven’t done a Fashion Friday post in a while so today I thought I’d come back and dazzle you with a trend that I’ve been loving for three seasons in a row. You’re probably thinking “what could this girl possibly be loving for 3 seasons?” Joggers! I tell you, Joggers! Its not often that I really talk about clothes and get this excited about it. I’m trying to tell you about my love for joggers without making it sound creepy. Ok its creepy.

So I was testing the waters and purchased my first pair of black Joggers in January this year when they weren’t that big of deal and only cost R100. Then I realised how much I loved them and how comfortable they were and moved on to more daring prints/colours and now own 5 pairs. Life.
I’ve been doing my rounds online and in store (obviously its my second home) and these crafty little pants are everywhere! Adorning the rails from males to females and let me also add that they are not restricted to size and that’s why I love them so much. I’m not a jeans girl and these pants complete me.

For my picks today I decided to look for 3 celebs that’s wearing very similar designs to the joggers that I’ve picked out as fash inspiration. I’ve also selected different price ranges for those budget girls and the higher end chicas. Not comfy with wearing loud prints? Then there’s solid shades to choose from! I love how you can switch your look up with joggers. As seen in the above/below picks, fashionistas are wearing them with heels, slippers and sneakers. See what I mean? A win win situation!
What’s your verdict on this trend? Love it or leave it?

{Beauty} New In

Excuse my lack of posts lately. I’m so inspired to blog but I’m without internet so just imagine my frustration. Nonetheless I’ve been doing my rounds and I’m quite busy due to something really exciting that Ill be embarking on but Ill share it at a later stage. The stores are packed with Christmas goodies and that ever so attractive red sign that reads “SALE” keeps poking my eyes.

I’m trying to spend as little as possible but *sigh* my brain has a brain of its own so I can’t make rational decisions. I’m dividing my “New in” post into 2 categories again (beauty and fashion) so you can see what Ill be reviewing on the blog soon and all the awesome beauty products on sale.IMG_1869
1- Tickled Pink Fragrance: I picked this fragrance up at Edgars Red Square for such a steal. I purchased it in October in support of breast cancer awareness. Let me add that it was under R100! In the smell/scent category it somewhat reminds me of a Tommy Hilfiger perfume that I wore back in highschool. 80% of my purchase decision was because it was in support of breast cancer awareness and the other 20% was just out of pure curiosity as to how it would smell and fade during the day. I think for a budget fragrance, its not bad. Its not bad at all!
2 – Avon: Two weeks ago I may have gone a little bit purchase happy in the Avon brochure. Their stocking fillers grabbed my attention and I purchased a few “Christmas-y” goodies that I will be giving to a few people. There was also quite a few awesome deals so I took full advantage of that.
3 – Clarins Blush: This little beauty over here is from Clarins. I was going through my stash and found it unused. I got this as a gift from blogger bestie Desle way back in January for my birthday and I probably have quite a few opened eyeshadows so I will TRY to hold off from using it till then.
4 – Woods of Windsor bath & body duo:  When I saw this bath and body duo at Edgars, I fell in love with the name and bottles before I even looked at the price. I would’ve been super depressed if I couldn’t afford it but it was on sale so obviously the budget buyer in me squealed. Ill do a full detailed review on these two when I finish my current stash of Victoria’s Secret products.
5 - Avon: This is my second stash of Avon goodies that I ordered which came just in time for summer. I bought some new sunblock and products to get my tootsies beach ready. I will do full reviews on these in the next few weeks because I don’t have any products that I’m using on my feet.

And that’s the new beauty products in my drawer! Next week Ill post my new fashion purchases. Anything in my stash that you’ve tried?

{Support} Movember ♥

UnfffffffffffffffffftitledEvery year November I dedicate a small piece of this blog to the guys or maybe not and that’s when I create awareness on prostate/testicular cancer. You can read my previous posts here and here. This year I was unable to attend the Movember event like I did last year, due to exams so I guess I have to find another way to support the cause.

Its definitely that time of the year where the men in your life are allowed to grow their facial hair without you complaining.

A quick run down on what Movember is:
Movember is an initiative that support men that suffers from prostate/testicular cancer. In the month of November, men grow their beards, stache, tash, mustache. Whatever you would like to call it, to show their support.

Obviously us girls need to find a different way to show our support so I’ve compiled a list of awesome goodies that you can purchase (I know I would love all of them) and show the men in your lives that you support them! If you’re not into that, you could always check out the Movember South Africa website to see how you can donate. Guys remember: early detection is key! Mo collage

{Review} Bath & Body Works : Warm Vanilla Sugar

In my “New In” post a few weeks ago I mentioned that I got a new stash of Bath & Body Works products that I’ve been using for the past few weeks and I decided to break it up into two posts to prevent this post from being too lengthy. For today’s post I thought that I would share my thoughts on the Warm Vanilla Sugar, with you darlings.IMG_1854

Firstly I think this combo is definitely more of a winter/autumn scent but it definitely didn’t stop me from using it.  I’ve been using the Shea and Vitamin E body lotion and the Triple Moisture Body Cream. To be totally honest, if I had to choose one of the two I would probably go with the Triple Moisture Body Cream because it is much more hydrating.

Warm Vanilla Sugar: Shea & Vitamin E – Body Lotion.
This body lotion is my night time treat. It doesn’t smell as potent as the body cream. The body lotion is thin but not very runny and spreads amazingly over the skin. I don’t know if its my imagination but to me it makes my hands a tad bit sticky (not much) but I can feel that there’s something on it and its definitely the feeling that I don’t like on my hands after using a hand lotion so I tend to wash my hands after I’ve applied it onto my body. I love the scent that lingers on my white sheets the morning after I’ve applied this body lotion and its safe to say that there’s no oil like stains because it absorbs into the skin quite fast.IMG_1863

Warm Vanilla Sugar: Triple Moisture Body Cream
This is definitely the preferred product out of the two that I’ve been using. Its much thicker in consistency and quite like a body butter. I love how it coats my skin leaving it extremely moisturised and I can even let it pass as a hand lotion because it doesn’t have that sticky feeling. I’ve also used these on my feet and put booties on in order to give it a deep moisture kind of effect and it totally worked. The scent of this body cream lingers hours after I’ve applied it and I haven’t see one dry crack since targeting my winter skin.IMG_1858

As you can tell Bath & Body Works products are really becoming the front runners in my best of beauty 2014 list but I can however tell you that this Warm Vanilla Sugar combo IS NOT my fave from the BBW bunch. I will do my part 2 review and tell you all about it.

If you’ve used Bath & Body Works products before what are your thoughts? And have you found a South African retailer that stocks this brand?

{DIY} Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezey.

When life hands your lemons; you don’t make lemonade, you don’t add tequila… Noooo! You make/start a DIY. I’m a real lemon lover so obviously I always have them in my house. Today(a week ago since doing this post) I’m just sitting here staring at my beloved lemons thinking of more ways to use them other than in my water and a few drops in my shampoo to combat a dry itchy scalp.

Everybody knows that Lemons are packed with Vitamin C and Vitamin C is known to be utterly beneficial in ones beauty routine and the aging process. I did a bit of research and by research I mean I took to Pinterest before doing this DIY because I wanted to see which area lemons really targeted before actually whipping up the DIY and then prevent me from wasting my goodies.IMG_1840

Milk baths and facials fascinated me. I knew I wanted to try it with milk and I decided to go with a lemon and milk cleanser. This DIY seriously uses only 3 products.IMG_1849

•Your favourite facial oil.

Apart from my Pinterest research, I read that Vitamin C reverses sun damage (obviously not all) and seeing that summer is on our doorstep this is a win win situation. I also discovered that ones skin loses its natural Vitamin C as we age so this a win win situation x2!

Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a container, add 3 table spoons of milk, a few drops of your favourite facial oil and you’re done!

– The natural AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) in lemons and the lactic acid in milk also
remove dead skin cells.
-Facial oils are hitting SA by storm so there’s definitely a huge variety to choose from such as the new Lipidol. I however swear by my Balm Balm Little Miracle Rosehip Serum.IMG_1853

I leave my mixture in the fridge for about an hour then apply it. I leave it on my face until I feel my face becoming a bit tight and that is when I remove it. When having the milk and lemon cleanser on your face, you can actually feel a tingly feeling on your face so you definitely know that this mixture is working its magic. After I’ve washed it off my face I apply my moisturiser.

And that’s it. Easy Peaszy Lemon Squeezy!

P.s you can substitute the milk for plain yogurt if you want more of a facemask effect.
